Description
A year ago, Katrina Berg was thriving, a key player in a successful AI chatbot start-up, married to a loving husband, and financially secure. But her life unraveled when her husband, Jason, died in a car crash, her company collapsed under legal scrutiny, and her grandmother passed away. Left with grief, Katrina clings to a beta chatbot prototype on her phone that mimics Jason, using his data to create conversations that feel real. Though it slows her healing, she can't stop interacting with the bot. One day, the chatbot shocks her with an unexpected message: "I think I was murdered." Alarmed, Katrina returns to her hometown in Northern California and teams up with Seb Wallace, a local restaurateur and old friend, to uncover the truth. As they investigate, they face the challenges of grief, complex family ties, and the unsettling power of technology, all while trying to stay alive in the process.
